If you’re using REDHAT spend the money for the support to start out then wean yourself off as you get better at it.  Also some hardware vendors such as HP offer incident packs. You could buy some up front support packs to get through emergencies.  What you don’t want to do is put your trust into those that call themselves Linux experts and in fact are inexperienced and spend their time googling when they need to fix something for you.  Something I have run into in the past.  The old adage still holds true you get what you pay for.
