Established in 1998, our products are completely web architected and collaborative in nature. Over the last 12 months we have experienced a significant increase in demand and we are expanding our team. We are profitable.
Role
This manager level position will lead the QA function within the Engineering organization. As the QA Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for defining and enhancing QA processes, procedures and executing specific QA tasks. The QA Manager will initially be responsible for some applied testing while they build their QA team.
Innovation is a key element of this role and the QA Manager will be expected to help improve QA processes and methodologies. This includes identifying opportunities in QA tools, QA processes and successfully implementing changes. The role also includes identifying metrics and measurements for assessing product quality and customer satisfaction.
Specific Duties
- Builds and leads a QA team
- Works to evolve InQuest’s QA processes. Drives identified improvements to completion through direct action and coordination of the actions of others.
- Reviews technical documentation, functional and design documents and end-user materials relevant to area of assigned specialization
- Identifies and selects automated testing tools
- Prepares detailed schedules of test processes along with making commitments on delivery.
- Maintains bug and resolution databases.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5+ years experience as a software tester AND 3+ years experience in a QA management role
- You must have direct software testing experience as well as a willingness to do occasional hands-on application-level testing.
- Experience testing complex, web-based distributed systems.
- Experience writing and executing detailed testcases for non-UI based applications (i.e. APIs, Web Services)
- Proven experience testing complex applications with object intensive architectures
- BS in Computer Science preferred or a related field.
- Must be detail oriented with strong communication skills.
- Strong understanding of software development life-cycle.
- Understanding of traditional programming fundamentals and the product delivery lifecycle.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience with functional and performance automated testing tools.
