CONTRACT TO PERM SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (PHP/MySQL/Ajax)

DandyId is a globally accessible repository for users’ online identifiers. We also provide an API and widget insert for third-party sites to pull and push users’ identifiers, via a single access point (the user’s “DandyId”, or e-mail address).

DandyId was founded in April 2008, and with current funding is expanding our engineering team in the Providence, RI area. Our site can be found at www.dandyid.org and blog at www.dandyid.org/blog. Our API is currently private, however minimal documentation exists on the site. As an early-stage start-up, you will be involved in the growth, evolution of the product. Desired candidates are highly self-motivated and passionate about cutting-edge services and the social web.

Role and Responsibilities:

- Build on our existing PHP Framework to implement new features in the DandyId site and the API
- Integration with third-party sites
- Provide thorough quality assurance of all builds, (unit testing and test cases)
- Product communication and support (possibly)

Requirements:

- BA/BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- Knowledge of Object Oriented PHP, MySql, Smarty templating, Ajax, and JavaScript
- 5+ years software development experience
- Fast-paced, start-up mentality (this is not a 9-5er)
- Desire to be part of the team at high-level, participating from concept through implementation
- Team programming experience (SVN preferred)
- Accountable for quality and accuracy of own output
- Self-motivated and reliable, with a moderate amount of supervision
- Desire to kick ass and build an outstanding product with a vast user base!
