Job Summary:
The focus of this position will be to develop and build relationships with information technology and bioscience companies in the Rhode Island/Southeastern New England Region for membership development and talent development in the Tech Collective community.
This role will include calling on companies to engage and build relationships for participation in the Tech Collective community as well as working with the companies’ key talent recruiters to understand their needs and assist them in making connections to the talent. This person will also represent the industry and its community for talent development in the Network RI- one-stop locations. This portion of the role is to provide customers and staff of the one-stop with a real-time perspective into the industry and talent market. The industry liaison will assist the staff at the one-stop locations in assessing, guiding, connecting, and informing customers in industry specific knowledge related to the regional industry sector, who are the companies/employers, what are the jobs/careers, what training/education is needed and available.
The Industry Liaison will work closely with the companies/employers as well as the staff of the Tech Collective to build and strengthen their participation in the community as well as provide them the service of connecting talent. As the key role for membership development and community building; this person will be actively making introductory calls to bring awareness to who the Tech Collective is and as to what they offer in the areas of talent development, meeting with companies to identify and build relations with the key contacts within the organization, as well as engaging with current members to promote participation in the community as well as talent connectivity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- One-Stop presence for staff training and awareness
- One-Stop presence for customer assessments and interviews
- Facilitate referrals of talent to employers
- Facilitate one-stop customers to training/education
- Membership development & member engagement
- Assist in the development and delivery of member benefit packages
- Relationship management
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years work experience, preferably within client relationship management and/or sales.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and/or people management preferred.
- Experience and awareness of; or in the training/education technology sector.
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage appointments and follow up communications
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- High-quality people skills for working with varied populations
- Proficient in Microsoft Business applications as well as a database/CRM tools.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree preferably with emphasis in business, communications, or education.
