RISBDC - PR for the Small Business Owner
Public relations is one of the best and most cost effective ways for an organization of any size to reach its full potential. In today’s marketplace, the public is bombarded with information from many competing sources. How will you be noticed? Only those companies that use a strategic approach to their communication efforts will successful rise above the “noise” and be heard. This course will serve as an introduction to the principles and methods for conducting a small business public relations program. We will begin with a description of public relations and how it is different than advertising and why it is an essential component to your communications and outreach efforts. By the end of this course, the participant should have a clear understanding of public relations, how to craft messages that will resonate with a target public, how to conduct a basic communications program, know where to look for additional information and much more.
