Set your alarms - Jogging with John (the Business Edition) this Tuesday 6am

Last week's RI Nexus event - Meet John Maeda: RISD's New President Connects with R.I.'s Info-Tech and Digital Media Community - was a big success. And good stuff is already coming out of it. For starters, John and Steve Cronin, CEO of Pawtucket's Mercury Print & Mail, have organized a variant of John's recently announced "Jogging with John."

John writes:

We talk about Web 2.0, leadership, new ideas, and so forth... Next jog will be next Tuesday morning at 6AM from the Providence Hilton. We do a short loop (around 1.5 miles) and then do a warm-down chat and end by 7AM.

That was _not_ a typo - 6am - wow... Thankfully, despite his marathoner's build, John assures us that the pace will be comfortable.

Again, the deets:

Tuesday, June 24th, 6am

Hilton Providence (out front)

21 Atwells Avenue, Providence

Hope to see you there!

Wow, hey, thanks, but at 6am, I'm more inclined to "BLOG with John". Hopefully the RINexus blogging crowd will keep us updated on the topics of conversation that take place!

Kudos to John for being so accessible.  It is so refreshing to see a college president being so present in the community.  Good stuff.

This morning's run was a good time. This is a super prompt group though. I pulled up near the Hilton right at 6am proud to be "on time", only to see them run off. I scrambled to catch up - not what I'm use to doing at 6am. Once I caught up though, the pace was comfortable and the company excellent. So note to self for next time: arrive at 5:45am. (I can't believe I just typed that.)

This seems like a great event that John Maeda puts on. Maybe a little early in the AM but nonetheless a great opportunity. Like Michelle said, hopefully the RI Nexus bloggers who go will keep us up to date on the topics discussed during the jog. The next two upcoming runs are going to be on July 8 and July 15
